Joan Rivers is the process of being taken to Broadway as part of 'Carson

Henry Bushkin, the lawyer who adapted the show from his bestselling biography 'Johnny Carson,' has been trying to bring it to the Great White Way and has begun casting for it, the New York Post reported.

Bushkin, who represented the 'Tonight Show' host for decades, said that Rivers, during her appearance on the show as a young comedienne, had done a "hilarious monologue," which showed how "good and funny" she was.

The author, who was given the name of Bombastic Bushkin by Carson, added that for the play, he had created a rapprochement between her and Carson, who were not in taking terms since a fall out in 1986, and had even discussed the role with the late star.

He wanted to "make things good" between them, and Rivers, who recently passed away at the age of 81, had "loved" the idea, he added.

The show requires 22 actors who would fill in for Rivers, Bushkin, Carson, Carson's third wife Joanna, his producer Fred de Cordova and sidekick Ed McMahon, frequent guests Carl Sagan and Don Rickles, among others.
