American actress Laura Dern has been lined up to star with megastar Meryl Streep in the adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott classic, 'Little Women'.

Directed by Greta Gerwig, the flick will reunite her with 'Lady Bird' actors Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet, who both are also in talks to star in the Columbia Pictures project, along with Emma Stone, Florence Pugh and James Norton, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.

'Little Women' revolves around a story of sisters Amy, Jo, Beth and Meg, and their mother in Civil War-era Massachusetts as they navigate growing up without their father.

Amy Pascal will produce the movie alongside Denise Di Novi and Robin Swicord.

Dern recently wrapped up the production of Noah Baumbach's next feature and is set for the second season of HBO's 'Big Little Lies'.
