Peter O'Toole, who was made famous in his title role in 1962's 'Lawrence of Arabia', has passed away after a long illness. He was 81.
The iconic actor's daughter, Kate, said in the statement that the family was overwhelmed by the outpouring of real love and affection being expressed towards her father and the family during this unhappy time, Fox News reported.
Kate added that in due course there will be a memorial filled with song and good cheer, as O'Toole would have wished.
The Hollywood star, who had grown wraithlike in his later years because of years of hard drinking, had received eight nominations for an Academy Award during his lifetime.
