Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij on Friday said he is leading a delegation to Rio to encourage Haryana players.
"We have made our programme in such a manner that we can watch Haryana players performing. I am leading a delegation to Rio to encourage our players," Vij told ANI here.
The minister further said he would also have a look at the infrastructure at Olympics venues as Haryana might host National Games this year.
"While in Rio, I'll also have a look at the infrastructure as we might host National Games," he added.
"An all-party meeting was held and everyone suggested that sports minister should go there. On August 13, a delegation will go from here," he said.
Vij's plans to lead a delegation to Rio comes just after the Rio Olympics organisers threatened to cancel Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel's accreditation.
