Former Boxer Lennox Lewis has lauded his ex-promoter Frank Maloney for undergoing a sex change operation to become a woman.
Twice-married father-of-three Maloney said today she was overwhelmed by the positive reaction to her decision to come out as a woman called Kellie, the Mirror reported.
However Lewis admitted that he was just as shocked as anyone at the news about Maloney and his initial thought was that it was a wind up.
Lewis said that he can only imagine what a difficult decision this must be for Kellie (formerly Frank Maloney).
He added that he understands better what she, and others in similar situations, are going through. And people should be allowed to live their lives in a way that brings them harmony and inner peace.
He further added that he respects Kellie's decision and if this is what brings about true happiness in her life, then so be it.
