Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Sunday said that a team appointed by the Centre should probe the Mathura violence and held the Samajwadi Party Government responsible for the untoward incident.

"The government should allow the Centre's team to probe the matter if they want a fair probe. This incident is the state government's fault," she said.

"This man (Ramvriksh Yadav) was present here since two years and they took no action on them," she added.

The Union Minister, who was denied entry to the Jawahar Bagh, accused Akhilesh Yadav-led government of a 'direct involvement' in the violence.

"Despite court's order, the government didn't take any cognizance on the issue. It clearly states the government is directly involved in the incident," she added.

Sadhvi alleged that two cops lost their lives because of the government's involvement in the matter.

"The people, who were responsible for the protection of SP Mulkul Dwiwedi, should have fired at the agitators, but they ran away from that place," she said.

"On whose directions did they run away from there?" she asked.

The BJP and BSP have demanded a CBI probe into the matter.

Meanwhile, the combing operation by police is still going on at Jawahar Bagh, which witnessed the deadly clash between police and a cult group on June 2 rendering 25 dead and hundreds other injured.
