Light showers in parts of the national capital on Tuesday brought about a pleasant respite from the heat for the residents.
While the maximum temperature stood at 39.9 degree Celsius, the minimum was recorded at 22.2 degrees.
The city had earlier witnessed scattered rainfall in some parts on Monday.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has updated its monsoon forecast for this year, suggesting a dip in the monsoon fall to 88 percent from 93 percent as predicted earlier.
