Wikimedia Foundation, the parent company to Wikipedia, has reportedly named Lila Tretikov as its new executive director.
Earlier, Tretikov was the chief product officer for software company SugarCRM.
On becoming the executive director, Tretikov said that becoming a Wikimedian is an opportunity to be part of something bigger than us.
Wikimedia foundation board chairperson, Jan-Bart de Vreede said that Tretikov is an exceptional leader with a passion for knowledge, a deep technical and product background, and highly collaborative approach, Mashable reported.
He added that everyone is excited to have brought her on-board.
