Lipika Mitra, the wife of former law minister and AAP leader Somnath Bharti, on Sunday said that she is ready to face any consequence if accusations made by her are proved wrong.
"Bharti being a leader and a responsible citizen should not do whatever he is doing. If charges against him (Somnath Bharti) are proved wrong, I'm ready to face any consequences," Mitra told ANI.
"He should come forward and cooperate with the Delhi Police. If he feels that any of the allegations made against him are wrong then he should come and give an explanation," she added.
The Delhi Police had registered a case against the AAP MLA after he was accused of domestic violence and mental torture by his wife.
The case was registered against Bharti under Sections 307, 323 and 498A of the Indian Penal Code.
Lipika has been married to Bharti since 2010, but has been living separately from him since 2012 along with the couple's two children in a rented accommodation in Dwarka.
