Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique has hailed his side's captain Steven Gerrard performance in Liverpool's 4-0 Premier League win over Fulham, saying that Gerrard can play like that till he is 50 years old.
The 33-year-old Gerrard's performance in the match took back fans to his playing days of yore and he had a hand in all four goals as he covered every blade of the Anfield turf.
According to the Mirror, Enrique backed his captain, saying that he believes time has not yet dimmed Gerrard's brilliance as even though he may no longer be able to produce those lung-bursting displays of his 20s, but he was still at the heart of everything Brendan Rodgers' men created as they climbed to second in the standings.
Enrique further said that Gerrard would still be producing the same quality of passes, crosses and free-kicks that he is doing now, at the age of 50, adding that unlike the past, Gerrard now plays more deeply and keeps more of the ball to make runs.
However, Enrique felt that it is Gerrard's decision if he wants to continue playing for England after the 2014 Rio World Cup, saying that it depends on how the player feels at that time.
