The managing director of Premier League club Liverpool has reportedly accused returning striker Luis Suarez of 'damaging' the club's brand with his biting and racist abuse incidents.
The Uruguayan international, who returned on Wednesday against Manchester United from a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in April, had previously been banned for eight games for racially abusing United's Patrice Evra in 2011.
According to Sport24, managing director Ian Ayre criticised Suarez for his actions, saying that any type of incidents of that nature are damaging to the club's brand.
However, Ayre also hailed the striker, saying that he is a key to the team because as a footballer, he is a 'street fighter', adding that he has responded well to 'work on his character'.
Suarez pushed to leave Liverpool during the off-season but was denied a move, with bids from Arsenal rejected, the report added.
