Liverpool have parted ways with manager Brendan Rodgers following their poor English Premier League performances that put the five-time European champions in tenth place.

Confirming the news, a club statement said the search for their new manager is underway and they are looking forward to making the decision in a timely manner, Sport24 reported.

The club added that it had been a difficult decision, but said that it would be better for their future.

The statement also said that there sole aim is to bring victory to the Liverpool, adding that this change would help them to achieve that aim.

The club have secured only three wins from eight games that they have played this season so far.

Rodgers joined as Liverpool FC's manager in 2012 after serving with Swansea City for two years.
