Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday said that his party will support the NDA's Bihar chief ministerial candidate, adding that no person from his political organisation shall be in the running for the top post in the state.
"We have maintained two things from the beginning: we will let Narendra Modi decide who will be the chief minister of Bihar. The second is that no LJP candidate will be a chief ministerial candidate in the elections. We will support whoever Narendra Modi selects for the top post," he said.
"[Hindustani Awam Morcha chief] Jitan Ram Manjhi is like our brother. After he has joined us, our alliance has only become stronger," he added.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushil Modi said that the NDA shall decide on a face for the assembly elections after rigorous deliberation.
"In a democracy, everyone has the right to voice their opinion. When the members of the NDA sit together, they will see all these points and come to a conclusion with regards to seat distribution; who will be the chief ministerial candidate, if any; who will contest from which constituency; and so on," he said.
The Bihar assembly elections are scheduled to be held later this year.
