Adding to the list of train derailments in the recent past, a local train running on Mumbai's Harbour line derailed on Friday, while it was returning to Mahim platform.

Saving the first four coaches, a technical fault caused the derailment of coaches six, seven, eight, and nine.

Five-six persons have sustained minor injuries, but no case of casualties or major injuries are recorded so far.

The restoration work that began thereafter has reportedly brought back two derailed coaches back on track. Though the work got hampered by the rains, the railway authorities have promised to restore the train in two more hours.

The cause of derailment will be verified after all evidences are looked into.
