'Health is Wealth' and with an aim to promote a healthy lifestyle among locals, the New Delhi Municipal Corporation has gifted walkers at the famous Lodhi Gardens of New Delhi a new open gym.
Walkers in Lodi Garden said they were very excited and happy with this new concept of an open air gym as it is free of cost and they get to breathe fresh air while exercising.
"I have been coming here from almost 20 years, and it definitely is a great initiative. The best thing about it is that it's in a great environment, as its open. Secondly it's free of cost, no charges, so anybody can come. But, we need more apparatus and machines here. Lot of people patronizes Lodi Garden and I feel there should be another two gyms around," said Lt Col. Ajay Sekhri (retired) a regular morning walker of Lodhi Garden.
As per the initial plan, these open-air gyms will be installed at all major parks like Nehru Park, Central Park C.P, Sanjay Park and Talkatora Garden but looking at the great response, the agency aims to start similar gyms at 28 other locations in the NDMC area.
