French striker Loic Remy's late winner against Hull City helped Chelsea extend their lead over Manchester City to six points as Jose Mourinho's side recorded at 3-2 win on Sunday.

Eden Hazard's early striker in the second minute of the game and Diego Costa's curling finish in the ninth minute saw Chelsea take a 2-0 lead by the time only ten minutes had passed in the game. It was Costa's 20th goal of the season.

However, Hull replied back after twenty minutes in the game with two goals in 74 seconds as Ahmed Elmonhamady slid in before Abel Hernandez took advantage of an error by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, the BBC reported.

Substitute Remy then beat Allan McGregor to score with his first touch in the 77th minute of the game and provide the winner for Chelsea.

The goal, which sneaked through McGregor's legs, covered an inconsistent display from Mourinho's side, who went from awesome to awful in the space of 28 first-half minutes.

However, the French striker came to their rescue with his late finish after coming off the bench, and helped Chelsea extend their lead at the top of the table.
