India head coach Anil Kumble did not accompany the cricket team, which left on Tuesday for West Indies for the limited-overs series.

It was reported that Kumble didn't board the flight from England to West Indies, where India will be playing five ODIs and one T20 international beginning June 23.

However, a BCCI source later confirmed that Kumble has stayed back in London to attend the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting scheduled to be held in London and will later join the team in West Indies.

It is also reported that the entire Indian team, barring Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, have left for the Caribbean Islands.

Earlier on Monday, reports claimed that skipper Virat Kohli has conveyed "strong reservations" over Kumble continuing as coach to the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) appointed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

It is reported that the three-member CAC, comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman, tasked to find the new coach for the Indian cricket team, is willing to retain the incumbent legendary leg-spinner for the post.
