UN accredited global NGO the Loomba Foundation on Friday announced that it has imparted the three months training in garment making to 500 widows and destitute women in Mumbai, and has distributed sewing machines to them.
The women were provided with quality training in garment making, with the beneficiaries who completed the training successfully also receiving certificates of excellence from the respective training centres.
The Loomba Foundation, established in 1997, promotes fundamental freedoms and human rights of widows and their children around the world, raising awareness of the gross injustices widows face and seeking to remove stigmas associated with widowhood.
