As part of the continuing fallout from the sexual misconduct charges against Louis CK, Universal and Illumination Animation are the latest to distance themselves from embattled comedian Louis CK.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio giants have terminated their relationship with Louis CK on 'The Secret Life of Pets 2'.

The statement read, "Universal Pictures and Illumination have terminated their relationship with Louis C.K. on The Secret Life of Pets 2."

In 2016's 'The Secret Life of Pets', the comedian voiced the lead dog, Max, and was set to reprise the role in the sequel, which is slated for a June 7, 2019, release.

The animated feature, which also starred Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper and Kevin Hart, was a massive success at the box office, pulling in USD 875 million globally.

Yesterday, the 50-year-old US comedian confirmed the allegations in a lengthy statement and expressed "remorse" for taking advantage of his status as a "widely admired" comic.

CK added that he was "remorseful" and had "tried to learn" from his irresponsible behaviour.

Since The New York Times expose, the comedian's business partners have issued statements distancing themselves from him.

HBO announced on Thursday that CK would not appear in the upcoming 'Night of Too Many Stars: America Unites for Autism Programs.'

Additionally, Netflix had announced it would not produce another stand up special with the comedian.
