Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that his side could still become the Premier League champions despite trailing behind league leader Chelsea by ten points.
Van Gaal, whose side host Newcastle today, said that their goal was still to be the champions at the end of the season, adding that staying at the number one was the most important thing in the football world, the Daily Star reported.
According to Van Gaal, it was not always easy to claim the coveted title and that's why the board had said that their goal was within the first four places. However, he further said that with his players and all the staff, they were trying to achieve more than they expected from them.
Currently, United trail Chelsea by 10 points at the top of the table and second-placed neighbors Manchester City by seven.
