A low intensity blast occurred outside the Allahabad railway station on Tuesday. However, no casualties were reported.

Additional Director General (ADG) Railways for Lucknow Javeed Ahmad assured that security will be enhanced and said that CCTV cameras were installed at the station a week ago.

"The incident occurred near the railway station where a new building is being constructed. A street dog has died in the blast. We need to learn from this incident that we should be careful all the time. We

have spoken to the station administrators about alertness at the station," Ahmad said.

"One week ago, we placed CCTV cameras in and near the railway station premises. We will keep monitoring the situation. Standing operative procedure will be started and an investigation is going on," he added.

This low intensity blast came hours after a bomb blast on the Sealdah-Krishnanagar local train occurred in Kolkata, in which at least 19 people were left injured.
