The Lok Sabha was on Wednesday adjourned till tomorrow after giving obituary to former members including TMC's Renuka Sinha.

Various parties have separately given adjournment notices in Lok Sabha and for suspension of proceedings in Rajya Sabha to discuss the issue of demonetisation and highlight the plight of the common man.

A confrontation between the government and the Opposition over demonetisation is expected in the Rajya Sabha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier today called for a healthy debate on various issues including the Goods and Services Tax (GST) during the Winter Session of Parliament.

The government's decision of scrapping Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes has drawn mixed response from all over the country.

Nine new bills including on GST and surrogacy regulation will be introduced in Parliament.

Besides, Indian Institutes of Managements bill to confer statutory status to the institutes and competence to award degrees, HIV AIDS Prevention and Control, Mental Health Care and Consumer Protection Bills will be taken up for consideration and passing.
