Congress workers staged a protest here on Tuesday against the suspension of its MPs from Lok Sabha.
The protestors carried placards and shouted slogans denouncing the BJP-led Government at the Centre.
Congress leader Rita Bhauguna Joshi, who participated in the protest, said that suppressing the voice of the opposition will not work.
"It is a black day. Suppressing the voice of the opposition, suppressing the voice of the people will not work," she said.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan yesterday suspended 25 Congress MPs over disruption of parliamentary proceedings under ruling 374 (A), leading to outrage from various quarters.
