Madonna has been banned from a US cinema chain, Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas, for texting at the premiere of Steve McQueen's drama '12 Years A Slave' at the New York Film Festival.
The CEO of the cinema company, which was founded in Austin, Texas, said in a tweet on Friday that until the pop singer apologises to movie fans, she is banned from watching movies at drafthouse, Contactmusic reported.
The tweet also contained a link of a story which reported that Madonna lashed out after a fellow audience member called her out for texting during the screening.
Later, the CEO told Entertainment Weekly that his initial tweets were just a joke and he wanted to address it because he felt it was an important issue.
However, he confirmed that Madonna won't be allowed into his cinemas, saying now that it seems to have taken hold, he is going to enforce it.
