Madonna has been slammed by her fans after she used 'gay' as an insult for leafy vegetable kale in a word association game.

One of the avid equal rights campaigner's fans said that saying kale is 'gay' is meant to convey that she doesn't like it, so it is an insult and everybody is so tired of people using 'gay' in a negative context, the Mirror reported.

Another asserted that the 'Four Minutes' hit maker is as culturally sensitive as a bull in a china shop and puts her foot in her mouth constantly.

Earlier in 2014, the 55-year-old singer had to apologise after calling her son Rocco a 'n***er' on Instagram.
