Madonna, who finally appeared for her jury service just weeks after saying that she was ill, was treated like "royalty", as she was escorted into the Manhattan court by two officials, three policemen, two bodyguards and an assistant.
The 55-year-old pop-star, who turned up almost an hour late, was spotted wearing a black suit and black sunglasses, the Mirror reported.
The 'Material Girl' instead of heading upstairs to where other jurors were being held, was taken to a private office to meet with a head clerk.
One of the attorneys remarked that the pop-star would be a total distraction and even though she is bright, but celeb status overrides her intellect and everyone would be staring at her.
Madonna had been summoned to appear at the Manhattan Supreme Court last month but failed to show up and earlier in 2008, after waiting four hours she was told she was not needed and sent home .
