Real Madrid have claimed their fourth trophy of the year following their 2-0 win against South American champions San Lorenzo in the Club World Cup final in Morocco.

Earlier in the year, Madrid won the Champions League, Copa del Rey and European Super Cup. The win against Lorenzo marked their Spanish record of winning 22 consecutive matches in all competitions, the BBC reported.

While the Spanish side were initially disturbed by defence-minded Argentine opponents, Sergio Ramos made the breakthrough for Real with a stunning header, which was further consolidated by Gareth Bale to cruise past the rivals.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti had indicated Real's intent at capturing another piece of silverware by sending out a strong line-up including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema.
