Addressing a rally in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the assembly elections in Maharashtra should be seen as an opportunity to end all wrongs and corruption that has been going on under Congress-NCP rule for the last fifteen years.

The Prime Minister further said, "I was wondering why Congress and NCP was troubled by my visit to Maharashtra. I have visited Maharashtra even before, I came here during Lok Sabha elections, nobody said anything then. Now, I see why they are worried, they are worried because of the amount of people who have turned up here."

He added, "I was not born in palaces or in the families of political leaders, I am a common man just like you."

Maharashtra will go to polls on October 15. The counting of votes will take place on October 19.
