Maharashtra win inaugural edition of India's Softball League

Maharashtra have won the first edition of the Bad Bull Softball League in India by fending off Punjab 2-1 at Saket Sports Complex on Monday.

The three-day event, which was conceptualized by Bad Bulls Sports Club and recognised by the Delhi Softball Association, saw the participation of eight teams.

The eight men's teams were Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Kerala, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.

Britto Stephen, Organizing Secretary and Treasurer, Bad Bulls Sports Club said,"The winning team was rewarded with a considerable cash price along with winning Trophy. In the Second season of Softball league, we will be inviting International teams to compete with Indian teams."

 

The Softball league was an effort to encourage amateur baseball and softball at entry level among the common masses.

India has proven history in Softball and this game exists in our country for more than 7 decades. Since the beginning our Indian Teams both men and women have been representing India in Asian Championships.
