Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Tuesday affirmed that the BJP's victory in the by-election for Maihar assembly seat is a stamp on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.
"The results of Maiyhar election is a victory of development. This victory is stamp on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas. I dedicate this victory to the people of Madhya Pradesh and the workers of the BJP," Chauhan told ANI.
BJP candidate Narayan Tripathi had established a decisive lead of more than 25,000 votes over his Congress rival Manish Patel.
The Maihar by-poll was a battle between with the BJP fielding Narayan Tripathi who had won the seat in 2013 as the Congress candidate.
The Congress fielded Manish Patel who contested the last election on the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket.

The by-poll was necessitated by Tripathi's resignation. Tripathi's lead kept increasing with every round of counting. Tripathi had won the same seat in 2003 on the Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket.
