Ajay Maken on Sunday took charge as the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief and urged party workers to not be disappointed with the election results saying that it gave them an opportunity to bounce back.
"We want enthusiasm, we want numbers and most importantly we need to remain alert. In the last 14 months the Congress has lost three elections in Delhi. Because of this our workers are disappointed and sad. I would like to tell you that this is a challenge which can be turned into an opportunity if all of us want," said Maken during his address after taking charge as DPCC President.
"There are so many Congress workers in the city that BJP and AAP put together cannot match us. All of us must get together to turn this challenge into opportunity," he added.
He further pointed at the tri-color Congress cap and said that it encourages them to follow the path of truth.
"Tri-colored cap of Cong says, 'Always say the truth', this is our ideology, we do not make false promises," Maken said.
