Male Pinterest users are reportedly more interested in art than cars, according to a research study on more than 46,000 Pinterest users.
Researchers at the University of Minnesota and Georgia Tech. reported that instead of stereotypically male topics such as sports, technology and cars, male users of Pinterest pinned more content about photography, art, design, and home decor.
The study that revealed some interesting insights about gender and the use of popular social media site Pinterest, will be presented by researchers at the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing Feb. 15-19 in Baltimore, Maryland, Eureka reported.
The researchers had analyzed 3.1 million pins for more than 46,365 Pinterest users from Nov. 26, 2012 to Jan. 15, 2013, out of which, they identified gender for about 32,000 users.
