Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's "comrade dangabaaz" remark attacking BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is disgusting and inappropriate.
"This is a very disgusting comment, and a chief minister not use such kind of a language for another CM. She will get the answer for it after May 16. I think people of West Bengal will give her a fitting reply," said Ravi Shankar Prasad.
"With the rising popularity of Modi, Mamata's disappointment is growing. I think the Election Commission of India should examine it. I would like to request the EC to focus most on free and fair elections and I also think that EC will look into the matter," he said.
"I would also like to add that we are very proud of our leader (Modi). The way he has campaigned and the way he has energized the polls as well as the party is worth applauding," he added.
He further said that Priyanka Gandhi's claim that Modi is arrogant was unjustified.
"Yesterday in Amethi modi gave a speech which you all must have watched. He raised issues related to governance such as toilets in schools, medical facilities etc. He said that Amethi is underdeveloped although it has been governed by such big leaders," said Prasad.

"But Priyanka Gandhi called him arrogant and said that Modi spoke with a lot of anger to which he gave examples of the arrogance of Rahul Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi," he said.
"I have never spoken or reacted to anything that Priyanka Gandhi had said but today I would like the people of Kolkata to remember the booklet and film we released on her husband Robert Vadhra with full evidence. None of them had anything to say on that but Priyanka said that we are running like rats," he added.
He also said that he was sure that the BJP was going to win more than 300 seats in the polls.
"The people of India love Modi although there are some who hate him. I am happy that the love for Modi is increasing in Bengal as well and I am sure that will reflect in the polls," said Ravi Shankar Prasad.
"The results of these elections are going to be surprising and astonishing, and I am saying this with full responsibility. I am sure that NDA will get more than 300 seats," he added.
Referring to Modi as "Comrade daangabaaj", Mamata on Monday had said: "A person who speaks in such language has no right to become the prime minister and he should be put in jail. I don't know about others but we will say on record that he should be jailed.
