A man was arrested after he tried to self-immolate in front of the Chief Minister's House in Nagpur.
The Nagpur Police has also detained four others who were accompanying him.
They had allegedly been removed from their service in Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
The detained people were among the 17 people who have not yet been reinstated by the NMC following the sacking of 106 surplus employees in 2002.
