Manchester City has claimed their 100th goal of the season in their 4-2 victory over Cardiff City in the Premier League on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.
The result lifted Manuel Pellegrini's record-chasing side up to second place in the league table, a point behind leaders Arsenal, taking their tally for the season to an impressive 42 goals in 11 home games.
According to Sport24, City forward Edin Dzeko claimed the milestone in just 14 minutes after start with his opening goal, which was ratified by goal-line technology in what was apparently the first time in Premier League history that the system has been called upon decisively to award a goal.
Despite a swift equalizer by Cardiff's Craig Noone, Jesus Navas, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero also got on the scoresheet, although Fraizer Campbell earned a consolation goal in the 90th minute for Cardiff, the report added.
