Premier League champions Manchester United is reportedly closing in on a 36 million-pound deal for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini after the club requested Jesse Lingard from United on loan for the season.

According to the Mirror, Everton boss Roberto Martinez wants Lingard as a part of the deal over Fellaini, although United boss David Moyes will make a decision after Sunday's clash with Liverpool on whether to release the highly-rated England under-21 star.

The report further said that the Belgian Fellaini, who is ready to quit Everton after agreeing to a farewell drawn match against Cardiff on Saturday, agreed to turn out for the match only after Martinez pleaded with him to give one last performance.

According to the report, along with Fellaini, Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan, Real Madrid's Luka Modric, Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera and Roma's Daniele De Rossi are all on Moyes' wish list before the transfer window closes on Monday.

The report further said that Moyes expects Real to sell atleast one top midfielder as Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale's transfer to the Spanish giants looms nearer, and hence has brought Modric back on his radar, although Bilbao had already rejected United's 25 million-pound bid for Herrera.

Seemingly resigned at losing at least one of his top stars to Old Trafford, Martinez said that although he wants to keep the top players, he is not in control of what is going to happen.

However, Martinez hoped that all those players who have left the club this season come back to Everton in the next and stay there for many years to come.
