Manchester United would try to take over Argentine winger Angel Di Maria's transfer to Paris Saint Germain by matching his 55 million pounds asking price for the player.
United has been tracking the winger for most of the summer but looked set out to miss out on him this week, with PSG agreeing terms with Real Madrid for his move.
However, it has been revealed that United would now match PSG's offer, Metro.co.uk reported.
Di Maria's agent is in the process of tying up the move to PSG, where he has already terms and been given a shirt number, but United are reportedly not giving up.
Real would prefer to sell to United as they could pay the cash up front now, whereas PSG will sign the winger on-loan ahead of a 55 million pounds deal next summer, the report added.
