Mangalore moral policing incident symptom of 'Hindu Taliban': Congress

Expressing serious concern over the Mangalore moral policing incident, Congress leader B.K. Hariprasad on Tuesday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) always takes the communal path to disturb peace in the city.

"The BJP has a base in Mangalore and they move ahead with communal agenda. There is a kind of Hindu Taliban there. Police needs to check this.

According to reports, suspected members of a Hindutva group stripped the minority youth, tied him to a pole and assaulted him publically near Attavar area of Mangalore on Monday evening.

The police has reportedly arrested 14 out of the 30 suspected persons in connection with the case.
