Bollywood's favorite designer Manish Malhotra organized a preview of his first ever men's wear show to be held in the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week in India's showbiz capital Mumbai.
Titled the 'The Gentlemen's Club', Malhotra's collection is a festive fusion of Indian and western couture, focusing on shades of emerald green and adorned with botanical motifs.
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor will be the showstopper for Malhotra in the reputed fashion week.
Speaking about his collection Malhotra said, "Men's wear has been important part in the five years of journey of my label and so this is a big one for me. Its ten years of my label, first time at Mehboob Studio. This will be the first time Ranbir Kapoor walking at the Lakme Fashion Week. I am doing suits for the first time. There are a lot of Indian wear but I am doing a lot of interesting suits as you can see and in this show its entire wide spectrum, it's called Gentlemen's Club. We have a man who is 18 years old and we have a model who is 55-year-old. So style is not age bound."
Malhotra completes 25 years in the Indian fashion industry this year. Looking back, the ace designer said that it was his will to do something challenging that kept him going all through these years.
Malhotra has designed costumes for many Bollywood movies in the past. His clients include top Bollywood actors including superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
The offsite show will take place at Mehboob Studio on August 26, where he will close the opening day of Lakme Fashion Week 2015.
