In the lead-up to the 2014 General Elections in the country, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Wednesday said that his party does not indulge in votebank politics, but instead takes action based on policies, principles and morals.

" We take action on policies, principles and morals and through them we get closer to the people, in an attempt to win confidence. ...We don't prepare our political strategies based on who is running for polls....Congress will fight the elections based on their strength," Tewari said here today.

Manish Tewari also spoke of the chances of the Congress winning for the fourth time in the election for the Delhi State Assembly.

"In politics, I have always maintained that there should not be any arrogance . In a democracy, the people are equal to God. The public of Delhi has given the Congress their support three times. We have full faith that they will bless us for a fourth time," he said.

The election in Delhi will be held on 4th December.

Counting of votes in all the states will take place on 8th of December.
