Michael Gottlieb, the writer-director behind 1987 cult-classic comedy 'Mannequin', died in a motorcycle accident on the Angeles Forest Highway north of La Canada Flintridge. He was 69.
Gottlieb, who helmed films like 'Mr. Nanny', 'The Shrimp on the Barbie' and Disney's 'A Kid in King Arthur's Court', had also produced numerous top video games from 1995 through 2005, including several in the 'Mortal Kombat' series, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
The CLIO Award-winning director had taught screenwriting classes at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena recently, and film chair Ross LaManna said that Gottlieb was a superbly gifted man who not only mentored the students but also took pride in their accomplishments.
