Maoists attack Kerala forest outpost, vandalise eateries

Alleged Maoist-affiliated groups on Sunday vandalised a forest outpost in the Wayanad district of Kerala, damaging the structure and equipment inside.

According to reports, an armed group of around 15 barged into the office and damaged the computers, printers and furniture in the early hours of Sunday. They also burned the office files and set ablaze a vehicle belonging to forest department.

Sunday reportedly also saw an attack on a forest aid post at Kunjom under Vellamunda police station, with the attackers leaving copies of the Kabini Dalam, a CPI (Maoist) bulletin, after ransacking the office.

In another incident, which took place at Chandragiri in Palakkad city, saw a group of seven unidentified men ransack popular eateries and distribute pamphlets.
