Maoists kill three, injure two in Bihar's Gaya District

Maoists have reportedly killed three persons in Amkola village in Bihar's Gaya District.

Reports said two other persons were injured in the incident.

According to media reports, the Maoists surrounded Amkola village, selected six to seven people who were attending a cultural programme, took them away and fired at them indiscriminately. The dead and injured are said to have been affilaited to the CPI-ML.

Police confirmed the death of village head Sanjay Yadav, saying he was the main target of the Naxal attack.

The Maoists claimed that Yadav was a police informer, and deserved death.

During their attack, the rebels burnt Yadav's vehicle and took away his rifle, a pistol and around 100 cartridges.

 

Two of his aides were also killed in the attack.

The injured have been admitted to the Anugrah Narain Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMCH).

District officials are at the spot and have ordered search operations in the area.
