The Maoists pasted threat posters and distributed warning pamphlets in Jharkhand's Bokaro city.
The posters were targeted towards villagers, local police and lawyers.
Reacting to the rebel activity, lawyers said that they were not intimidated by such warnings, and added that the judiciary is strong enough not to be affected by such acts.
"Posters by Maoists are not going to affect law or the judicial system. We are not intimidated by all such threats. The judiciary is not weak, it will not be affected by such threats," said Animesh Chaudhary, a lawyer.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kuldeep Dwivedi said Maoists have lost grip in the region and this act highlighted their weaknesses.
"Maoists have certain committees who indulge in pasting such threat posters. This is just to instill fear in the mind and hearts of people. We have reviewed security and jails have been provided extra security. However, I think no one should be scared of all this. Maoists have lost grip in the region, they have been unsuccessful," he said.
The Maoists, who are considered to be India's greatest internal security threat, have off-late intensified their operations in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and some areas of West Bengal.
