Margaret Cho has responded to all the criticism she received for her jokes in the 2015 Golden Globes Award by saying that she is of mixed North/South Korean descent and if some imprisons, starves and brainwashes her people, they would get made fun of by her.

Cho, who was dressed as a North Korean general in order to play the supposedly newest member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, took to Twitter saying that she didn't play "the race card", rather played the rice card, E!Online reported.

Users on the micro-blogging site said that Cho was being racist by making fun of North Korea, while another user said that that she has fought her whole career to avoid being a stereotype, but is now being a racist herself.

Cho added that "haters are going to hate, while winners are going to make puns".
