Champion pugilist M.C. Mary Kom on Friday wielded a broom and participated in the 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan' launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2.
"Our Prime Minister has organized 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan' everywhere, it is a good cause. It is a happy feeling that I am cleaning everything," said Kom.
The 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' was launched nationwide to focus on sanitation, hygiene and waste management.
It encourages people to sweep, remove garbage, debris and unauthorized encroachments from roads, markets and residential places.
The 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' aims at making India a clean country by 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
