Amid an ongoing lawsuit that alleges Ed Sheeran of copying Matt Cardle's song 'Amazing', the 33-year-old singer has clarified that he is not involved in the lawsuit.

In a bid to clear the air, the 'Loving You' singer recently tweeted, "Please read news articles closely. This is not my lawsuit. I think @edsheeran is a genius & 100% deserves all his success," reports Independent.co.uk.

The explanation has come after songwriters Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard slapped a 20 million dollars lawsuit on Sheeran, alleging him of stealing the song "verbatim, note-for-note" on his track 'Photograph'.

The duo have accused the 'I See Fire' hit-maker of stealing 39 notes from 'Amazing', adding "the similarities go beyond substantial, which is itself sufficient to establish copyright infringement and are in fact striking."

Harrington and Leonartd are seeking statutory damage along with either a running royalty or injunction from Sheeran.

Notably, Sheeran's representatives are yet to comment on the matter.
