Matt Jones overcame a fierce challenge from world number one golfer Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott to claim a one-stroke victory at the Australian Open on Sunday.
Jones, who was leading by three strokes ahead of today's thriller, produced a spirited comeback after dropping three shots in his first two holes. He subsequently finished with a 72-hole total of eight-under 276.
American golfer Spieth had to settle for a joint second after missing an eagle putt on the par five to force a play-off, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Meanwhile, Scott produced an aggressive round of six-under as he rallied from nine shots behind at the start of the day to finish second.
