Matt Prior's return to England has been delayed because of an Achilles injury, throwing light on his unavailability in the County Championship against Middlesex next week.
His delayed return has now raised concerns on his availability for the first Test match of summer against Sri Lanka next month.
Mark Robinson, the Sussex director of Cricket revealed of Prior's absence from the game and said that although he has not been ruled out, he would not play on a straightforward line.
Further adding, that the decision of Prior playing could be left until the day of the game.
According to the Guardian, England was keen for the 32-year-old to play two championship matches to prove his complete recovery from the Achilles problem that has restricted him to a single appearance this season, in Sussex's home game against Middlesex in April, when he scored a century but did not keep wicket.
Prior's nonappearance could open up chances for Somerset's Craig Kieswetter, or even the Essex captain James Foster to play in the Test series and Championship.
