Mayawati demands President's rule in UP

Strongly criticising Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati here today

made a fresh demand for imposition of President's rule in the state.

"Law and order has collapsed in Uttar Pradesh. Under the present rule, 'goonda raj' is rampant across the state," Mayawati told media here.

"The Samajwadi Party is no longer worried about corruption. They are promoting criminal elements in the state," he added.

The BSP supremo criticized the ruling Samajwadi Party government in the wake of recent rape cases.

On Allahabad High Court ban on caste rallies, Mayawati said the caste-based rallies were organised to unite the nation.
